Capturing the Splendid Moments with Oriental Oasis - Reflections on the Success of First Chinese Ink

Oriental Oasis's art workshop series is dedicated to providing aesthetic and cultural enrichment for British-born Chinese. We are delighted to share with you our first Chinese Ink Painting Workshop, which was recently attended by 15 British born Chinese from Manchester.

The Chinese Ink Painting Experience class aims to introduce participants to the beauty and techniques of traditional Chinese ink painting. In the class, our professional artist instructors share with participants the history and philosophy behind the art form, as well as the various techniques and tools used in ink painting. Participants had the opportunity to try their hand at painting using traditional ink and brushes and received personalised guidance and feedback from the instructor. During the first class, everyone was motivated to learn the basic brushwork for creating ink paintings and began to try their hand at drawing some simple plants.

The class not only provides a great opportunity for participants to learn new skills and express their creativity, but also acts as a social event for Chinese in the UK. Participants were able to connect with each other and develop a sense of community through their shared interest in Chinese art and culture.

We will continue to organise events like this to provide a welcoming space for BBC community to interact, learn and grow with each other. We welcome and look forward to more members joining us!
